Default I hate the elements!!

Good morning and Happy Saturday everybody!

So where do I begin? Well I purchased my 2017 Nissan 370 Z next month will be a year After just a few months I started to notice chip paint Nothing insanely huge Just little specks Regardless it's missing paint I know everyone has a different Level Of love for Our vehicles But when I saw the very 1st chipped piece I was sick to my stomach And when I got my 2nd one small as it was I noticed it quick.

So about a week ago I drove up to Reno from Santa Rosa California To bring a old friend to buy vehicle This was a huge mistake All I could hear was sounds of rocks and debris slamming into my car As I drove up-and-down the Different environments 5 6 7% grades In all I could hear was things hitting my car It was hard I wanted to cry By this point time there's no turning back Anyways after arriving My car was caked in all kinds of snow dirt ice etc

So I was able to finally watch my baby last night And after doing so I noticed how much pain I was really missing Easily 20 different spot small but still regardless missing paint all over the front Some On my mirror Housing A lot on the grill And on the front bumper I do rise this is life But I also have red threds about people complaining about are paint jobs being weak

I need to know does this bother anyone else as much as it does me Is there a solution a solution that is perfection a solution that is mint condition I've got a Nissan they've told me they have their touch up paint I haven't tried it I have not seen it I don't know if I trust it So that is the point of this thread to get input on your personal feeling and what you've experienced And also if you've pride this touch of pain and if it looks amazing I wanna be up close in not be able to tell where of miss my paint

I do apologize if I can read any of this I didn't correct anything Thank you for your guys' input

lok-tar-ogar!!!

That's just the way it is. Put clear bra if you like. Touch up paint will cover it up but still noticeable.

Other than protection film (clearbra and etc), always leaving a LOT of distance between you and the car in front of you will help some.

That's why I usually have my front fascia painted almost every year...

Feel your pain on the little nicks, got a clear bra on the whole front / hood - bumper - fenders, Figured it was worth it... not much you can do, my biggest fear is bird droppings, always checking....

Yup, had a cleat bra put on 2 weeks after purchase. Should have done the mirrors to. Also going to purchase a chip dr kit to fix the other chips and not be as noticeable

Dude this is why I painter's tape my new car at the dealer without moving it off the lot and drop off directly to my clear film installer. My last car had 100k miles and not one rock chip or swirl and it was black.

I get a kick out of these posts... there's a solution
Clear film

If you drove up to Reno you basically drove through desert roads/highway etc. where there is a lot of small rocks, dirt, and debris etc. on the road which in turn will fling in the air and into peoples vehicles on the road ways it is hard to avoid . Even if you use the same color Nissan touch up paint to cover all the paint chips it will still be visible unfortunately. You can repaint all the areas where the paint chipped and get a clear bra for the whole front end of your Z. Be careful of what areas you drive your Z in. Next time tell your friend to rent a car and drive himself where he needs to go. If you ever plan again long distance trips simply rent a vehicle out instead of driving your Z if you don’t want to possibly damage it.

you could encase it in plastic, and never drive it. isn't that the point of owning a car??

Ceramic Coating will help with this.
There are some permanent & semi-permanent ones out there with different hardness.

Clear film is totally worth the investment. It's also self healing.

Following distance.... I keep a big gap, it pisses people off, but I save on stress/brake pads/and rock chips.

I have my car ceramic coated (ceramic pro) but it's not helpful against chips ppl always recommend it your car will be shiny and all but that's it no protection from chips.
