Hey Guys,
The fascia is taking a little longer than expected for a couple reasons. #1) I've been a giant pain in the rear about the instructions. I want to make sure that they really spell everything out clearly on how to do the blending steps. #2) We wanted to change one of the mounting points. We weren't 100% happy with it so we wanted to make a couple of the changes. We should be able to knock out some production pieces tomorrow though. |

Instead of slapping something onto the cowling why don't you try just try a series of cuts of the cowling itself with some added molded edge-lines entending inward from the cut openings to the cowling backside to give it some smoothness and make it look like the cowling was injected that way to begin with? When you want to revise the design of something you don't always have to add something....instead you can actually go more simple and take something away like I suggest and still get the same functionality but with a much more natural and streamlined look.....not something that looks like it was just slapped on which destroys the entire natural curved line of the cowling. I have to say that looking at many of the designs of the ground effects from the majority of the 3rd-party manufacturers it is clear and evident that the 3rd-party design engineers don't know how to leverage the natural design of the car itself and instead always approach the design by just slinging stuff onto the car that completely disturbs the natural design lines the car was intended to have....which leads to the viewer's eye to just focus on the obstrusive slung-on bling but never visualizing the car as an entire whole.... I suggest that you stop this particular revision and go back to rethinking it instead of pushing out something which will have less of an appeal than what I am suggesting... |
Judging by how many phone calls and emails we get on a daily basis from people who can't wait to purchase this fascia...I would say that this fascia has quite a lot of appeal.
But thank you for your input. Once the complete kit is finished perhaps your opinion will change. |
Kyle - nice design and I'm sure it'll be a quality piece. Looking forward to seeing a few 370's with this fascia on them. :driving:

Im guessing the option of getting the bumper as one peice (dont mind paying shipping premium) is out of the question Kyle?

Nice product btw! |
Agreed ZKindaGuy... You do realize you are arguing aesthetics, right? Do you think for some reason doing car shows gives you some sort of authority on the subject?
Everyone is different, we all have different taste. You like the more subtle stuff, others like other stuff. You're having a hissy fit because it doesn't look like what you want... What are you doing lol...are you friends with XZIBIT?!? I hear he does car shows too. |
Just saw this thread (yeh I have been under a rock the last month) and the related fang thread. I was liking this the more I read as the developement was coming along and then the final pics. I like a lot. Next on my wish list as I am still paying off the last goodies I purchased. Great job Kyle&Josh! In for Mike & Raul' pic/video and review.

Speaking of this, have any of you seen this months ad in Modified and IT? Stillen FTW!

Speaking of which, I like the way the 'finished' product looks on those adverts. I think it's cleaner than OEM, which I like. When it comes to detailing, sometimes less is better IMHO.
Keep up the good work! |

http://i344.photobucket.com/albums/p...09/filters.jpg Lets keep this thread on topic. If you have questions about G3 intakes, take a look at this thread here http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...3-intakes.html . Thanks  |
Does this front have holes that guide air to the G3 intakes, that would be really and allow for better air to them? BTW this is a great front end.

^ Yup, there is an opening between the bumper beam cover and the top edge of the front of the bumper.

Thank you. :tiphat: +1

We're finalizing a few things right now. During our testing of the fascia we found that the top mounting surface was a little thin and a little weak. We used the factory fascia for this section and it might have been a bit too thin. So, the craftsmen in the modeling shop worked on that on Friday and again this morning. We should know more this afternoon. I was hoping to have everyone wrapped up and shipped on Friday but as everyone has said, we would all rather wait until everything is perfect before we ship them out.
We're a few pages deep now so I though it would be a good time to recap some of the integrated features of the fascia. 1) Additional cooling- We opened up the main center opening to allow for a lot more air flow. 2) Even more airflow- We plan on offering an additional oil cooler which can be mounted behind the vent on the driver's side. For the guys who purchased the street cooler first, then the motorsport cooler...That street cooler fits perfectly in the side opening so you can now run both. This is what we plan on doing for our car. 3) Still more airflow- We have incorporated a small vent underneath the top section of the fascia. This small vent will help direct air to the Gen. 3's, supercharger intakes, and intercooler. 4) Brake ducts- We will be building some modular brake ducts for people who want to either keep the fang look or for the guy who just wants brake ducting. Either way, these will be 100% functional and work perfectly for both people. 5) Great looks- We wanted to keep this looking good but functionality was definitely the primary focus. |
No worries Kyle! Its worth waiting a few more days.

How soon, I am dying to know so I can include it in my budget for my upgrades

I am pretty confident when I say that it will be ready by the end of this week. I will know more tomorrow morning when we run the new part. The mold is curing today after the changes we made and it will be ready to shoot tomorrow.
I will have a more official release soon with all the specifics and details as well as part numbers and prices for the optional upgrade pieces like the compact/hidden windshield washer reservoir, oil cooler upgrade, and more. But, for now, here is the price for the fascia. This fascia will sell for $497.00 and it does qualify for the free freight. Only $9.95 to cover insurance and handling and we pay all of the additional freight! |
How much will the sideskirts cost?
|
I don't think we have a price on the skirts yet.
|
got an image of the skirts?
