Default Front air intake ducts

Hello all,

Im looking at getting the stillen gen 3 intake and iv also been looking at the carbon fibre intake ducts

Would there much if any benefit fron fitting some intake ducts on the bumper?

Also only thing in worried about is if i do fit them i live in england so it pretty much rains every other day would this then be a bit of a risk of the filters getting soaked if i fit the intake ducts etc?

Cheers

Shaun

Cooling is improved with additional air ducts. However, if you are not running turbo's, it may just be overkill. Although Stillen manufactures some decent CAI, CBE's, etc, their body components/kits have had quality and fitment issues. I say stay away from the air ducts. If I were you, I would consider a good cold air intake, either Stillen or Z1, plus a good cat. back exhaust, such as FI. Good luck.

Cheers for your quick reply, I have just found some older posts about the ducts and people saying that there isn't much of a gain and the engine bay will get quite dirty... More of a cosmetic upgrade then anything I guess.

And its more of a day to day car not a track car so I guess benefits on the ducts in that respect will be minimal.

Iv been looking at the stillen Gen 3 intake system haven't heard of the Z1 intake though..

Guy before me upgraded the Cat back on the car but I'm looking at replacing the whole exhaust system with the ark dt-s at some point in the near future.

Z1 intake is relatively new.. The Z1 shop, however, is well known as one of the best Z shops in country. The parts they make in house a generally known to be of great quality and a great value for the money. Customer service is top notch too.

Ahh okay must be why I haven't heard of it, has there been any comparison between the Stillen Gen 3 intake and the Z1 intake at all? would be interested to see what one is considered the best

I'd suggest searching around the Intake/Exhaust subforum for that info:

I was torn between the Z1 and the Stillen CAI. I went with the Z1 CAI simply because no cutting of any existing components on the Z was required for installation. Jayhovah left you a great link for the intake/exhaust threads on this forum. Spend some time researching and don't forget to use the 'search' option if you need something more specific. Here is a link to Z1. They really are an awesome company to deal with and are beyond super knowledgeable when it comes to our Z's. https://www.z1motorsports.com

Yes, I am absolutely happy with my Z1 CAI. I love the fact that there was no drilling required for the installation. The quality of the Z1 CAI is top notch. IMHO, you will not be disappointed at all.
