Powder coated cross bar

Mine is painted white, but the recessed area where the bolts are located is plasti-dipped black. It has been resprayed a few times there due to the problem you mention.

It has been resprayed a few times there due to the problem you mention. I have flat washers there and even make sure to only torque the bolts/nuts to 35 ft-lbs or whatever the FSM says they should be.
