I would have whom ever you ordered it from have pick it up and send you a new one. Send them the pictures of the damaged carbon. I have most of evo-r carbon stuff on my car and they look great 2+ years just installed his carbon lip flawless carbon.

GREAT News from the body shop yesterday! He took one look at it and knew he could take care of it. Confirmed exactly what we were thinking is that it was in it's raw form and wasn't finished yet. He did say usually carbon fiber comes actually clear coated and looking good prior but it was not a problem at all. Also, the great news is the last pic on page 1 is not a chip. He sanded it down and found some beautiful CF sitting right under it. It was actually just some residue from the fiberglass. The chip on the back part of the wing however is a chip. It's not clear into the CF itself so he said he will be able to fix it perfect, but thank god for the gurney flap regardless bc that'll be perfect. The guy REALLY knows his CF too as he has a personal '91 NSX flipping race car that is covered in Carbon Fiber that he's modding even more sitting in his garage.
Bc of christmas it's going to take a few weeks, (especially the longer time to dry and cure bc of the cold temps) but will post up pics when it comes back! Oh and still talking to RHD bc y'all are absolutely right, this deserves some sort of credit. But my main concern is the new Toy for the Z. Fujimura hood shipping notification just came in too! :D |
yep, should be fine. my ings turned out very nice. areas with minor voids can be filled and painted black before the clear. wont be able to tell.

Lol, I have a couple of small areas along the edges of my hood, most people don't notice it, but I use a black sharpie and it works like a charm.

UPDATE! RHD Japan has been amazing. They did some research on the wing and have determined it's actually a Dry Carbon set up they sent me. Which explains the cloud from when the Resin was sucked up. The shop I spoke with taught me a TON about carbon Fiber today and they are incredibly knowledgable. That being said, he is 100% confident in being able to make this wing absolutely shine and even complimented how nice the piece was as he's seen quite a bit of Carbon Fiber in this "raw" stage. Will update with pics when it comes back from the shop!
