Default Rhino Lining

I'm curious about doing something new and different. I have a black nismo and I've been wanting to paint my door handles and badges black. How do you guys think it might look if I sprayed both badges and door handles in black rhino Lining? when I had my black Chevy duramax I sprayed the fenders with rhino line and it looked pretty good. I'm just curious if it would look good. It's something different that I have yet to see done and just looking for some opinions

I have 2015 Nismo and blacked out my door handles and all emblems with Plasti-Dip. Try that first - if you don't like it, you can peel it right off.

well I know about doing it with plasti dip but I'm curious how the rhino line would look because it has that rough look and feel to it. I was gonna get them painted by my local shop but started thinking about trying something different with the rhino line

I think I will do it just to try something unseen in the forum (atleast I have yet to hear of anyone doing it). when I do it I will update with my opinions on it and I will post pics. I'm gonna go next weekend and get a price on how much it will be to do it

The only thing I would stress is to watch out for the heavy grains getting caught in the door handle mechanism. You don't really want to him those up with what is basically small rocks.

Thats true, I never thought of that. I'm gonna get an extra set of handles that way if it doesn't work out for that reason I'll still have another set

I think it's a cool idea though. I'm definitely down to see results if you try it. I might just follow you on that if it turns out the way I imagine!

Sweet! If it turns out good, I would love to see it on a white one

I can tell you what your issue will be, and here's how I know.
On my kart, I painted the frame with a bed liner. Looked great, held up well. However, every time you touched it with bare skin, it left a white mark. As in it takes off your skin. So working on the engine or something, brush my forearm against the frame it and there was a white streak on it. I didn't much care on my kart, but you definitely noticed it. And you can't really clean it because it shreds towels & such. So, on your door handle, it's going to be an everyday thing to have it turn white. But your hands will be nice & smooth from the daily exfoliation.

You're probably better off using some sort of "krinkle" paint if you want that textured finish. I've seen a few people that have their intake tubes finished in this manner. I would imagine it would do better than rhino lining in terms of the issues that scottIN brought up, but I'm not sure how much better.

hmm, I never had anything like that happen on my duramax but at the same time it does make a little sense. I might do as mentioned and try somega sort of textured paint.

I have rhino liner on both bumpers of my lifted Grand Cherokee (and I'm about to do the rockers and fender flares too). I'd never put it on my Z though.

If anything I'd shave the handles entirely and add door poppers. However, this would require welding, bodywork, and respraying. Too much effort...
