2015-16 Nismo Interior Pieces

**Sorry in advance if this is a repeat thread but I couldn't anything last night when I was searching through the forum.**

I don't know why I haven't noticed it before but the 2015 and 2016 Nismo Z's have all of the silver colored interior plastic pieces smoked out. I think this is the perfect alternative for me since I'm not a huge fan of carbon fibering everything but I'm also equally not a huge fan of the silver either.

Anybody know where to get a hold of the yellow circled pieces? I'm hoping that since more and more sites are starting to offer the 2015-16 front/rear bumpers and side skirts that this will catch on as well but my search so far has come up dry. Please let me know if anybody comes across a '15-16 Nismo that's being parted out or a site that starts offering them :tiphat:

...I'm afraid to head down to the stealership and get OEM pricing :ugh:

JARblue 07-23-2015 11:34 AM

Interesting. I'm going to have to check these out in person. The shift bezel you should be able to purchase from a dealer or maybe find parted out on the forum. The cupholder will be the same. The silver piece is not sold separately. I'm not sure about the interior door handle though. FBNissan here on the forum usually has the best prices on OEM parts.

I painted the shift bezel trim KAD to match my car. I wanted to do the other items you circled, but just never got enough motivation to do the prep work required. But if I can be lazy and just buy them, I might just do that :icon17:

Thanks for some direction, I'll have to get in touch with FBNissan and see what they say. I also just noticed that the steering wheel controls (cruise/stereo control) also appear to be smoked as well. Now those are gonna be the expensive ones, probably going to have to buy a whole new airbag I'm assuming.

Steering wheel controls may be oddly cheaper... I have looked into adding the non-nismo bose version (to get the bluetooth buttons) and the part is only about $50 (spooky cheap, right?). I would jump for the NISMO ones at a similar price, as I also hate all the silver. One of the vendors would do well to create a "black interior" package from the new NISMO pieces.

kenchan 07-23-2015 12:38 PM

for that, i would just spray my factory one with night shades or something? i like the titanium finish though as it is consistent with the exterior door handles.

MicntaeG35 07-23-2015 03:01 PM

I'm trying to do some searching for the exact same interior pieces so if I come up with anything I'll let you know. I'll probably go down to the stealer ship this weekend and just see how much they want to rob me haha

JARblue 07-23-2015 03:11 PM

I checked these out today at a dealer. I like the color a lot. But they didn't have a 6MT Nismo. And the 7AT Nismo shifter bezel looks weird (it's tiered) with a Nismo placard that I don't want. I am wondering if the 6MT has this also.

Anyway for the Nismo MT shifter bezel, Nissan wants $187. For the Nismo cup holder assembly, Nissan wants $106. For the interior door handles, Nissan wants $101 for the RH side and $118 for the LH side.

I wish it was that easy but most of these parts are ones that you touch regularly. So even if all goes well with VHT, it's bound to wear off a lot faster than the OEM Nismo pieces. Once it wears off then you are in for quite the treat of sanding and re spraying silver then VHT again. Not worth the time or headache in my opinion, I'd much rather pony up the cash for the OEM Nismo pieces or just learn to live with silver.

JARblue 07-23-2015 05:08 PM

btw... the part prices I listed above are straight off parts.nissanusa.com. I would start at FBNissan (dealer sponsor on this forum), as they typically have the best OEM part prices in my experience.

Repped for getting some prices on this so quick  I'm heading to my local stealership on Monday for my last comped oil change. I'll get their prices too and hopefully some part numbers as well, I'll update the thread with them then.

Ouch! Maybe we can find some for cheaper somewhere else

Perfect, now I know what to tell them to look up when I go on Monday.

Another thing I just realized though, if you wanna do the whole "Smoked" plastics swap, for it to look right (in my opinion), you're going to have to do your HVAC switches too. Also, as previously stated the steering wheel controls as well. I'll try and get part numbers and pricing for those on Monday if JARblue doesn't beat me to it haha.

kenchan 07-23-2015 07:02 PM

kenchan 07-23-2015 07:05 PM

or the cubby handle? and the center console handle? vent handle? hvac control dials?

Yes, the steering wheel pieces are smoked too (see my first post), and I don't have steering wheel phone controls on my base + sports package so no worries there.

Not sure, I plan on reusing my stock overhangs and replacing my 3 gauges with Defi Advance (or similar) gauges.

Cubby handle - smoked, center console handle (open/close locking piece I'm assuming?) - smoked, vent handle - wtf is a vent handle?, HVAC control dials - smoked, hazard & rev match buttons - smoked.

Listen here Sir Troll-A-Lot, I'm just trying to get some Nismo smoked plastics at a reasonable price lol. Let me know if you have anything productive to add that helps me get one step closer to making that happen.

The silver trim has always bothered me in the 350 and 370.. I blacked out EVERY silver piece except for Z on steering wheel and e brake button.. Looks the way it should imo

That looks awesome! How did you do it? Spray paint or what? Also how long have you had it like that and have you had any issues with it rubbing off? Thanks in advance.

I think we could tell ;)

Ignore list. If there are stupid people, you can put them on the ignore list so you don't see their posts. Kenchan's is quite large. I, on the other hand, prefer to keep tabs on the idiots. Can't let them step too far out of line - like one guy that tried to say you really didn't need to change the oil in your car because he worked with some specialized industrial machines at work that could run their lifespan on the original oil

Now you know why after I did the shifter bezel KAD myself, I stopped :roflpuke2:

Thanks for the entertrollment :)

Now :gtfo2:

Maybe I need to test drive a new Nismo (with my wife so sale guy can't come) and just take it home and swap the parts :stirthepot:

 surrrre, just another benefit to owning a Z. No oil changes necessary and they run on pixy dust and happy thoughts.

edliaszenik 07-24-2015 04:46 PM

I'll post some pictures later but I wrapped my interior pieces (all the circular parts) and I had all the others painted gloss black. I was able to order the buttons for the s mode and hazard lights and the steering wheel controls. Other than that all my silver is history.

oero_ballin16 07-24-2015 09:11 PM

what about powder coating them?

edliaszenik 07-25-2015 01:15 AM

Powder coating plastic is a bad idea given the whole melting point issue.

russw007 07-25-2015 07:54 AM

i have a 15 nismo and love that they blacked out all the silver in the interior. but they left the exterior door handles and the headlight shrouds silver!:mad:

I also absolutely love the blacked out interior in my 15, but personally I think keeping the door handles & headlight bezels silver makes sense for the exterior. I mean those handles are iconic imo (plus I really dig that look on the PW)

Good luck on the conversion tho! (I can't imagine having to do all that myself lol)
