THE easy way to remove shift knob with out damaging it

so for those of you who have trouble removing the shift knob does it just not unscrew when you just grab it and unscrew it? i want to make sure

teejnut Base Member Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Burbank, CA Posts: 206 Drives: 09 Z34 Sport/6MT Rep Power: 16	so for those of you who have trouble removing the shift knob does it just not unscrew when you just grab it and unscrew it? i want to make sure i didn't mess anything up on my car! mine just unscrews pretty easily. there's some fiction from unscrewing it but nothing major.
