Will try to get it on the dyno Monday. Test will be:
CAI + tune + stock manifolds + HFC + cat-back
vs.
CAI + tune + LTH + 3" 100cpi (mega high flow) cats + cat-back

I guess this is how they are building them now Glover997.

Nice write up j-rho. I especially liked the pic of you smiling before the pain :rofl2: If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times...PPE headers are a major PITA to install especially the driver side.

Kudos for you installing them without removing the engine as did I. BTW, I had to make a wrench to reach/tighten the lower back nut on the driver side header.

Also, my butt dyno could tell the increase in HP after the install. Lastly, on the steering wheel linkage, there's an alignment flat spot on the spline shaft and yoke. That's what I used so I didn't have to go in and re-align.

Great write up! Thanks for posting. It took us a solid 12 hours to install these on the black cherry convertible and it spent most of it's life by the ocean so we had a few f^*@in S*!+ moments.

The dip is a characteristic of the header -- the gains everywhere else more than make up for it tho'. You can minimize it somewhat with VVEL tuning (dial out some overlap in that rev range). Adding in a "choke", such as a single HFC, will flatten it out too -- but you might end up losing a few up top.

We appreciate it when experts come in to talk about these products and share their knowledge. :)

Why do the pipes extend that long between the collectors and the flange ?! from what i remember the collectors exist just before the flanges, are these new design or somethin ?! Now they look like OBX headers lol !!

Did i miss the dyno sheet in this thread or somethin ?!

That's because OBX copied PPE's design

OBX is said to be a much poorer quality. For the amount of labor it takes to install these, I'd spend the money to only have to do it once.
