Just got mine installed. The tip on the passenger side sticks out more than the one on the driver side. Anyone else have this problem?

Open the box and take the parts out if the box doesn't fit. The parts are loose, but wrapped up good to protect them. |
I posted pics & vids this afternoon in my journal after completing the install and test run. All in all, I'm pleased.

My box arrived today too. Probably wont install it until the HFCs show up.

Team ARK, what is the status of your new hfc
|
Old exhaust, old cats all removed. Did not break a single bolt.
I will be installing the new HFC and new ARK exhaust in the morning. Suggestion on removing bolts. Alot of the forum users use PB Blaster and still break bolts. I use a different product that I got from my companies metal shop. It's called Aero Kroil. It can be bought a few places including amazon. I think it works better on old bolts. I think penetrates metals better than PB Blaster. Amazon Link Aero Kroil Info Website I, in no way am trying to sell anything. Just one of the best products for tough bolts I have found and sharing the love to the forum. Here are a few pics of what the can looks like. http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/...0233638893.jpg http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/...0233611976.jpg |

Start from the back. Loosen the rear mufflers and have a friend hold it at the desired place and bolt it down.
There are 3 places where you should look to align our mufflers. Tips Dual Chamber necks Flanges that connect to the mid pipes |

where are the reviews for the 2v2 guys?
|
I ordered one and installed it over the weekend. Pictures upcoming in my journal thread. Anyway I think I got an older version as I do not see anyway in a million years I will ever get the cans lined up properly, one currently sits lower than the other and the "ARK" logos are way off. I ordered a version 2 because I thought it overcame those things. Is it possible I got an older version instead of a V2 ?

who did you order from? if they gave you the wrong exhaust i don't see why you wouldn't be infuriated lol.
|
When did you order this?

Can you tell by looking at it if it's an old one, or do I just need to spend more time trying to adjust it ? By the time we got to the adjusting part we had been working on the thing all day long and I was cold and tired. It took forever to get the stock cats out and put Berk HFCs on, and had done a Typhoon first on top of that so it was a long day. I LOVE the sound of the thing with the Berk...and the burnt tips are awesome. Just wish the damn thing lined up better. |
Look at the flanges. There is a date stamp on them. It will tell you when it was built. Mine was 12/2011. So I would think that is a v2t2. If your trying to line it up by yourself you will never get it lined up. You need 2 people to this job. I also bought through FBNissan and was told it was directly shipped from ARK. I did not have issuses with mine when i got a second set of hands, but I was having tons of issuses when I was trying to do it by myself.

UPDATE: In fairness to ARK, I should post an after adjusting photo. Looks way better than it did ! I love the exhaust. Other photos also added in my journal thread. http://www.the370z.com/members/sixpa...4281-ark55.jpg |
So whats the status on the HFC's???? price?, does it cause a check engine light? how much does the rasp reduce? how much performance do we gain???
|
HFC samples are coming in next week. We will be releasing the HFC's for G37,370z, FX, 350z, and G35 all at once.

So after having the exhaust on my car for two weeks I'll HIV an honest review of three ups and three downs.
Ups 1. Burnt tips with laser etching look good. 2. Loud when I get on it and quiet when I'm cruising. 3. Packaged very well when shipped so no damaged components when I recieved it. Downs 1. The fitment still isn't right. The left and right side exhaust tips on mine can be made to sit even if I rotate the left side exhaust canister counter clockwise but then this causes it to hit the differential on rough roads or going over bumps. 2. The right side resonator flat layer on the rear body cross member no matter what and I had to trim it with a 2x2 inch cut to make the exhaust resonator not hit. 3. Ark you need to have better communication with your customers in the future about the progress of bringing a new product to market. Post in the vendor thread about where you are in getting te product and the process of getting it ready to ship to your paying customers. The original sale ad said eta before Christmas. Then that turned into the week between Christmas and new years which then became January followed by three different people promising the exhaust would ship the next day on three different phone calls. All in all I'm satisfied with the exhaust and happy with my purchase save for having to modify cross member which I wasn't to comfy with. Thank you TeamArk for your commitment to our car and providing parts for it. |
