Default 7at sluggish or slipping in manual mode

I drive in manual mode 99% of the time, but lately when it gets warmed up, the shift acts like it a slipping when goin from third to fourth gear. Here's some more info. I live in Fl and right now it's 97* with 97% humidity. It's hot damnit! Has anyone else had this problem. Would a tranny flush and swap with a quality fluid help? And what about a trans cooler? I don't track the car and don't plan to. I have 24k miles on it with an FI exhaust and post maf tubes as far as mods go. Thanks for any input

You are more than welcome to change the fluid, maybe you've heated/degraded the fluid more than most because you drive the car in manual mode...?
Trans cooler is always recommended

From what I've read changing the AT fluid involves the Nissan software suite and a laptop running it and to get ALL the old fluid out takes quite a number of gallons, due to the torque convertor holding quite a bit and not draining when the pan is removed. There is no filler gauge or way to tell if you're at the right amount when refilling.

You MUST use OEM fluid

For cooler, not sure, all of them should work just fine, but you should still pass the fluid through the radiator to bring the fluid up to temp

Only need consult 3 for the trans temp:
DYI: AT Fluid Change Steps

I'd just let out as much as you can, and refill the bitch

I took mine to the dealer after my stillen transmission cooler install and had them drain and refill it. Cost about 189$, fairly cheap to make sure it was done right. Peace of mind.

I dont want to sound sceptical, but how do you really know that they drained and filled it?

I say this as my cousin used to be a mech, they are timed on their work. Most of the time they check and top off and state they drained and filled.

Did u get the stillen cause u were having the same problems, or do u track the z. Reason is.. can I get away with a universal like mushimoto for a third of the cost.

I have 25 row trans cooler and it works wonder. OEM trans temp is way too hot even under normal driving here in Taiwan, not to mention on track the trans would lock up within 2 laps. With my 25 row I can go for 20 min session no problem.

Well I physically watched them drain it and go through the motions of refilling it. Took like a hour+ to do.

I got the stillen because I intend on further upgrading the Z, so I wanted the added transmission cooling.
