i don't know if its there because mine is 2011 model or because its a GCC spec.

sorry for the poor pic and video, it was over 46 C over there and couldn't think of taking better picture

i dont know if there is another hose connected above . but i think there should be one

can someone correct me if i'm wrong? is this is what i think ?

if its really an oil cooler , i cant imagine what would happen to the engine if used in me regon without the cooler

now im getting easly 105-110 C normaly at 47~50 C ambient

That's definitely an oil cooler of some sort, but it's not like OEM setups I've seen on Evo's and BMW's.

Refer to AK's oil change tut to see what this area looks like on a 2009-2010 USDM 370Z: DIY: Nissan 370Z Oil change (AK370Z way) Pictures inside

Looks similar to the OEM cooler on my old Audi S4. Routes coolant to the oil.

That's an interesting find, thanks for posting it. I wonder if that is a factory part for Z's sold in parts of the world that get extreme heat or new for '11 models like you said.

That's exactly what it is. Very similar to Audi/VW systems as mentioned above. Coolant is circulated through the round heat exchanger to:

1) Bring the oil tems up faster as the water heats faster than the oil

2) Provide a slight cooling effect when everything is up to temp.
I say "slight, because if your water temp is 200 degrees and your oil 230, the delta between the 2 is only 30 degrees. Not as much a cooler as a temp stabilizer.

3) The only downside to this is that the Oik heat is transferred to the water cooling system putting additional load on it. Luckily the Water system on the Z seems pretty robust with a good amount of headroom so this is probably not a problem here...

Here's a picture of a VW "Cooler" that also sandwiches between the filter and the filter mount..

The messed up thing is the 370Z not having a factory oil cooler in the states, but all the VQ35DE Altimas have it stock. WTF??

No oil cooler on the sports coupe and the family sedans all get one! HUH???
