Torque reading is in nm, not lb ft.
They are running 12.3:1 too... They have to be running e85.

The units are different if you ploted them in lb feet and hp they would cross at 5252 but since it is nm and ps they dont

:tiphat:

Hard to read that on a phone.

So if that's 389whp with e85, we would expect what, 350whp on 91 pump?

1slow370 05-30-2014 04:25 PM

Being that it is in germany and they dont have e85 u guys are barking up the wrong tree. Its most likely higher octane euro gas

You might not be able to run that compression on 91 at all.

Someone needs to rock this build here stateside on 91 and let us all know how it goes, haha.

Take it back the have some e85 a lot of e10, but almost every gas station has 100 octane gasoline

You can run up to 12:5:1 on pumped gas that's the compression of the fr-s and brz boxer motor. You don't have to run e85 or even 100 octane. Did you retune the car and reset the vvel? What code was your check engine light throwing? Ask the tuner to tell you on the uprev program. When I started my car for the first time after the can install it didn't sound good and come to fine out the actuators need to be reset back to factory. The dealership has the program to reset the actuators. Go to the dealership that's your safest bet. Again I have no problems with my setup and went through the dealership

Those are direct injection, so it's not quite apples to apples. They can get away with higher compression and leaner afrs.

Here is the video when I road in the JUN z34 last year when I visited JUN headquarters. The car has the same cams and compression setup and mind you is untuned. Listen to when the driver steps on it. The pulled hard and idled normal. Again it's untuned this is what you car should sound like.

if the civic guys and SBC's can run 12:1 on 91 and 93 im sure our motor can too. Being that it was tuned in germany they most likely used 98 or 100 ron fuel. Also we have better tuners for the vq here as well, i would bet the vvel on that car was untuned.

If cams pistons and rods could really get us to 350+whp on 91 pump gas, it'd be pretty tempting depending on the costs.

brucelidat 06-01-2014 02:16 AM

So to recap from those who know, to install the cams correctly, you would need rods and pistons as well? Anything else? Does anyone have links to the pistons and rods that would go with the cams? Just curious as to cost.
