It's relatively hard to do damage to our stock 7AT, if not actually impossible without attempting to shift into Reverse or Park while moving. We're probably all going to be more at the mercy of random engine issues or general unavoidable age than we are from issues directly related to beating our 7AT around.

Is it okay to shift in N when coming to a stop?

Im not gonna lie, I baby my Z, she 4 years old, with only 7k miles. I've redlined her once or twice.. Its sucha fun car to drive.

My DD is a honda s2000, and the redline on that is nasty..

Thats generally "unsafe" you would want to be in gear at all times to make sure you're able to move in the event of an emergency. Same goes for a manual.

I would only do this coming off hard braking when you want to prevent excess brake pad material depositing on your hot rotors. Otherwise it's just unnecessary.

Why would you want to do that? The handbrake wasn't designed to stop the car, only keep it stopped. Putting it in N won't really hurt anything (some very minor wear and tear when shifting back into gear; not enough to worry about) but using the parking brake to stop the car will wear it out and is unsafe to boot.

Can any1 w/4.08s chirp 'em slam'n 5th, sh!+ tires or not? I remember the 3.692s and 3.916s I had couldn't chirp 5th w/the OEM bars o S0ap....;)
WARNING:
This is not for the cheap Z34 owner that can't afford a tranny rebuild! 5th gear SINcr0 is single, so I don't recommend this....

I had a Mazdaspeed 3 with 400whp on the stock internals that I built and tuned myself. It hit 22psi and redline prob 10 times a day and it lasted for 80k miles until I traded it in. I will be driving my Z the same way. That is what I buy these cars for. They are designed to be driven hard.

You didn't zoom zoom boom then? LOL. My previous ride was a 13 speed 3.
