75k miles here on my 7AT and maan I love shifting right before redline especially 3rd, I call it My Miracle Worker ;) but all in all its GREAT Especially when you got a F.I exhaust setup(Or any of your choice) is like music to my ears when WOT  also its my DD fyi

They car is a high reving car. It has a good bit of safety things on her. I have red line her a few times. I do it every once in a blue just to remind myself how well I can shift (not saying that I'm any good at it) and how bad azz my car is. I have gone 75mph and dropped her into 3rd just to haul booty no problem. She can do it fine. The only 2 emotions I have when I do this is the adrenalin (it's both literally and emotionally a rush) and the "ohh shi*t" when I have already got off the gas after the short burst and cruse by a patrol vehicle 5minutes later.

Put boost on your car, plant your right foot and try to 1-2 shift with an MT before hitting redline. :stirthepot:

7.5k every time, cause you can't keep your eye's on the gauge and the exhaust note is just wide open!!!!! You got to drive it like you stole it to appreciate what the care is capable of.

This makes me want a Z even more

if i'm getting on the freeway and shifting under 7k, it's because i'm driving home from the bar. :driving:

Redline it away, just don't accidentally go from 3rd down to 2nd while you're redlining =P
|
if redlining it hurt the car, Nissan would have put the redline lower. Mine is reset to 8200 and I shift at the limiter 90% of the time. I have over 16000 track miles on it doing that.

Well the way this car is setup, you dont get your HP peak/powerband until 7000rpms. Torques peak is at 5200rpm. This motor was built as a high reving engine. I always shift a little after the powerband. Most people when they race shift at the powerband, + or -
But I aint saying its not damaging the engine. Just saying the engine was built to handle it. |
Thats only when stomping it of course lol
