Loss in acceleration + throttle response ??

I was told by a knowlegeable NISSAN guy that if you don't use the correct oil (nissan ester) that the knock sensor will sense an issue and start to retard

Juleous Enthusiast Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Nowhere Posts: 335 Drives: 370z Rep Power: 16	I was told by a knowlegeable NISSAN guy that if you don't use the correct oil (nissan ester) that the knock sensor will sense an issue and start to retard the power to the engine trying to compensate for this. Not sure if this is true but it sure sounds like it could be happening here, or does this sound like dealer dribble?
