VDC OFF by default turns off when you turn the car off. It should never be on when you start the car (note this is a double negative). Definitely sounds

It should never be on when you start the car (note this is a double negative). Definitely sounds like something you should have looked at. Can you confirm that VDC is actually off when the light is illuminated? I.e. can you spin the tires and get the slip light to flash?
