oh ya? What do you think about them so far? Lets hear your input....
|
What's the baffling inside look like? is there a drain at the bottom?
|
There is baffling on the inside. Waiting to find out if we are officially getting a waterjet or not before we get started on the baffling. Also waiting on the cnc press brake to arrive.
There will be a drain on the bottom that will return back to the oil pan for the specific car these go on. Will be doing some stainless steel mount brackets that attach to the top also. |
sub'd.
Sorry if I missed it, but have you gotten setup as a vendor yet? If so, give us some contact/purchasing info! :) |
What size are the inlets/outlets on those catch cans going to be?

We are indeed setup as a paid Vendor now. Shopping Cart Software & Ecommerce Software Solutions by CS-Cart will be the official website (still a little in the works, been busy making chips and havent had enough free time to finish the site) See my sig line for all our contact information. Quote:

baffling is sorted out and ready to cut. just dont know if ill be outsourcing the waterjet work or if we will be doing it in house (we have a deal we are trying to work to purchase a $130,000 waterjet cash since no one will finance us.)
same with the coolant overflow tanks, the bottom half is designed and needs to be waterjet cut also. Thats the hold up with the products right now (and the cnc press brake isnt here yet.) Everyone is taking their sweet time delivering machinery. We plan to mount these with waterjet cut, stainless steel sheet, press broke unto a mount that will attach to either the top, bottom, or both of the catch can. |
I would like to see some brushed aluminum finish to match the bits and pieces on the 370z. I like to keep things looking OEM. What other parts are you considering making? Will you make all the caps for oil, coolant, etc same design? I would like to get a matching set...in brushed aluminum (which of course you offer it raw I can get finished).
|
i dont have the means to do a brushed finished just yet with 100% uniformity. We dont really believe in doing things by hand if you will, things need to look the same from part 1 to 1000. We have a ton of $$ out in equipment right now and in the future we can buy the equipment to put a brushed finished on flat and round parts, however its just not in the budget right now...maybe a few months from now.
that all being said, every product we do now will have a cnc machined finish to start, and most likely will be anodized or wrinkle black powdercoat. powdercoat hides a multitude of sins like scratches and other manufacturing defects, thats why its so popular....anodize sets the boys apart from the men! But to answer your question...yes the caps will match and we will sell different styles of caps as time goes on. Its also not unrealistic to say that we will offer custom laser engraving on the products such as your name or what have you in the neat future also. |

AzSpeng, as per our PM, since I can't attach pictures to them, here are the pics. These are just rough measurements to get an idea of what space you have to work with.

you wanting the entire thing out of aluminum?
|

Ti would be too expensive. Can you do synthetic materials? |
if there was enough demand we could purchase the machine to do it...just need alot of products that want brushed aluminum.
we can machine anything from aluminum, steel, inconel, titanium..etc... What parts of that would I be making? All of it? |

It would just be nice to have something that's "bolt-on" like the MT guys get... With no modification of the shifter stalk to make it work. |
I can make it all ;) just wondering if you wanted that surround piece out of aluminum or just the shift knob itself

all the plastic silver pieces in the car in Ti!! mmmmmmmm jkjk i dont have that kinda loot! haha
|
Thanks for that info. I will be in for the CNC finished parts to allow custom finish. And like that you will possibly be able to add custom engraving.
Just some input, maybe you could edit your 1st post to include parts you're currently working on and progress(i.e. Radiator Cap - Manufacturing or Dip Stick - Production) that way we don't have to keep asking for updates and reading all the posts. Really like you are putting in effort to get us some parts and will defiantly be a customer! |
Updated the first post, ill update the progress as things get further.
Plan on seeing TOOOONNNSSSSS of cool stuff in the near future. We are also working on a blog that will be a complete listing with pictures and details of how products are made etc. |
I would eat up a 7 speed shift knob.
|
We will make it happen. Soon as i get these other projects knocked out the 7 speed shift knob will be high on the priority list.
|
Intake Mani!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
intake manifold is a bit more in depth. We can absolutely do it but we would need to get a list of guys willing to pay the price needed for the part.

I dont like to re-invent the wheel usually but I see a small void that can be filled.
Can you guess what its for? Price range will be around the $50-60 mark Attachment 82083 |

Wow..........these guys are not fooling around. I expected some Tom-Foolery when the teaser came out. Great work so far! And a mass of feedback..........WoW!

Not related to the 370z but fairly neat I think. Wishbone suspension component for a Yamaha R1 race bike.

Beautiful. Do you make your own vise jaw blanks or order them?
|
I make my own. I feel its a waste of money to purchase them...despite what ANYONE will tell you. if you have even an hour of free time on the machine you might as well make some jaws.

Vise jaws dont have to be precise by any means... I have a locating slot on the back and the face that locates against the vise face and vise way are perpendicular. aside from that i run them as fast as possible and dont care about taper or any other "issues"
I have a video cutting the vise jaws. Okuma Genos M560-V Cnc mill & Gibbscam with Volumill - YouTube |
I like how you slotted them down. I never see people do that
|
not my idea, but it works...the slot on the backside in the center is for a locating dowel pin. these jaws locate EXACTLY the same everytime you put them in...works great
|
alight folks! Its time!!! Going to turn this into a pretty neat product. Ill have video shortly..just finishing up the tool paths and whatnot.
Phunk, going to be using a mitsubishi 1" indexable endmill, 15krpm, .009" ipt, 270IPM at a .25" DOC and 1" WOC using high speed tool paths, through spindle coolant @ 1000psi...and a nice 22 degree ramp angle...should be nice and loud!. |
That will definitely make some noise. I would love to see the video. My machinery is not capable of that type of removal rate so its a good thing I have time on my hands LOL. Thanks for the information though I always love to get the specs on other peoples toolpaths... helps us all refine our own.
