Thanks guys

not sure about mixing the two but most 09 cars got the green coolant as the blue came out right before the 2010 cars.

Oh ok, so it's normal for my car then. Can I just top off the reservoir or do I have to flush the system altogether?

Thanks

Green coolant life is 30,000, blue coolant is good for 100,000. Don't mix them.

I would investigate as to why. The engine cooling system is closed loop and shouldn't lose any coolant unless there is a problem. Keep an eye on your reservoir level.

^ if the op has green coolant most likely someone changed out the fluid but didnt refill correctly. But yes you should top it off and keep a eye on it.

I'll definitely keep an eye on it. I just filled it up so we'll see if it fluctuates with time.

I'm at 47k miles so I'm running into these maintenance type of issues it seems. :/ I'll be doing a complete flush sometime in the near future and going with blue coolant.

As an update, the reservoir is still filled to the top. I do see some greenish dry powder looking stuff around one of the radiator hoses which leads me to believe that it came out of that. Are the clamps known to be bad on the early models?

I'm thinking of replacing the hoses with silicone but I've never had overheating problems (that I can tell) so I'd like to hear your thoughts please.

Thanks

no known issue with the clamps but you can never rule out a defect. it would seem a likely cause so long as it wasn't just spilled there, well you know what to replace first if it gets worse now.
