Default Hydrolock help?

Was driving tonight in NY weather is terrible at the moment just left work where the car was sitting for a few hours. On my way home in the pouring rain my car started to sputter and when I tried to give it gas it felt like a huge power drain had happened and it just seemed like a vacuum in a sense and all of a sudden the car was not responsive and it just stopped working. The car shut off on me! I don't know what to do. Is it possible Hydrolock? Does anyone have any idea of what it could be and what I should do? Any help would be appreciated first time anything has ever happened to me. Thanks.. I also have Injens installed if that helps with anything.

What intake system?
Take out the MAFs and and see if they're wet, and if the tubes are wet.
Dry everything you can reach out

Should be there. Sorry for crappy pic, pulled it off the Internet and used a crappy iPhone editor.

Edit: will be another one in the same spot, opposite intake tube.

pm'd you.

also, you may want to invest in some hydroshields, they actually work...sorta, well better than not having them when you have cai installed during rainy times

If you hydrolocked the engine it means you filled the cylinders with water. Will the engine turn over? Once hydrolocked it will not turnover.

It's still not clear to me where your intakes end, inside the engine compartment, or in front of the radiator. Sorry, but I'm not too familiar with Injen intakes. Regardless, I would pull my spark plugs (which I know is a pain in these engine compartments), and check for any evidence of moisture. Since you got it started, that might be hard to find at this point. I'd also pull off the filter cones and check them too.

The problem seems to materialized more and more when Ingen changed the type of filters to non oiled or dry filters.

I used to run the early oiled filter version, And most people that did had very little issues with the maf sensors freaking out because of the moisture.

Now of course that doesn't take into account the people who basically drove thru a good sized puddle of water while raining.

Anyway the newer type filters are more prone to moisture issues, And so you will have some folks suffer from this like what it sound like here.

Luckily there seems to be no damage and the sensors and filters just needed some drying time.

For those with questions on how they fit? Here are some pics from member m4a1mustang's old Z install

If you notice they do sit kinda low, But most of the time they'll be fine unless you either run into a heavy storm, And drive thru good sized puddles.

Again I never had an issue with mine, But I wanted the most Hp so I changed over the Stillen Gen3's and have been happy ever since.
