The S-MODE switch is opposite to the hazard switch in front of the shifter. On your tach, the little display above the shift indicator indicates "S" when SRM is active.

The S-MODE switch is opposite to the hazard switch in front of the shifter. On your tach, the little display above the shift indicator indicates "S" when SRM is active. SRM can help with upshifts by briefly holding the RPM. Hold the S-Mode button for the "S" to go away, and press it again to activate it.
As for revs kicking up for no reason while idling, it can be a number of factors as members mentioned. Perhaps there's a vacuum leak? The one I issue I recall some members reporting is the engine revving up slowly on its own with no throttle input.
