I dont understand how hitting 0-60 is ok for the car. When i tried to rev mine up like that once it made a clutch burning or some funky hot

I dont understand how hitting 0-60 is ok for the car. When i tried to rev mine up like that once it made a clutch burning or some funky hot smell so I stopped doing that. Lol, thanks for all the responses. Oh, & whenever you down shift, say you're in 5th, when you see traffic and want to slow down.. do you go back to 4th, then 3rd, then 2nd? Never really understood that. I just put mine into neutral and then guess around what gear would be good to throw it in according to the speed im in... help?
