My question for you Auto owners is when I punch it at any speed the gear will not change until it hits the Red!

Yes, since carrying the gear to redline is the fastest, and the car's computer assumes you want to go fast when you mash on the throttle so it holds the gear as long as it can.

I agree with the above statements, you can also use the shift nob or paddles, tons of fun. But nothing beats mashin it on a open free way. Especially when you have like two dots left, man she flies when shes empty.

The car holding onto a gear to redline is something I noticed right away with my Z. I am new to the Z family, to "real" sports cars actually since my previous weekend car was an Eclipse. At first I even thought there may be something wrong with it. This "run it to redline" was a new one for me, but makes sense considering the purpose of the car.

Good to know... Thanks for the replies Gents

I was actually worried something was not right.. But from the feedback it seems to be normal for other A7 owners.

I really enjoy the vert as I have never owned one... Nothing beats driving home with the top down after a long days work and giving my Prius DD a break.

Now just in a quest for more power!! as money permits

yes but weather is getting colder, so days of top down are coming to a close. enjoy the days you have left. Z will be going in the garage soon as well.

Its all about having balance, you drive crazy for a while then you relax and drive like a granny. That balances your gas tank as well as your wallet.
