I hear what you are saying & you also have the humidity as well. I drove 65-70 for 30-35mins & I was at 200F for my oil temp. Not worried about it....... If I was in high 200's like 280+, then I would want something better.

I would say that 200-205F is normal, should be higher than coolant temp which is usually 195-197F. Man this thing runs warm (as documented ad infinitum).

the reason why it was that hot is because of the engine coolant is the same temp. I knew that's what nissan was goin to do to "solve" their problem was incorportate it that way. Im glad I got my kit from z1.

Then the coolant temp gauge might have an issue because it seemed to be close to the same LED its normally on when at NOT... Just less than halfway. Maybe I'm wrong but when it happens again I'll check for certain.

coolant is normally near the 200's and the oil to coolant exchange isn't helping your oil that much being that it is coming in at over 200 from the crankcase. After it passes by hot coolant the exchange isn't as good as it is with air. In summary it isn't a effecient way of exchanging heat, if you had a liquid cooler that had cooler water it would most likely prove more effecient then the kit that I have.

Can be true depends on a lot of stuff. Water/coolant is a lot more conductive then air and requires a lot lower delta T and surface area. The method Nissan is employing is perfectly viable for cooling the oil. The question is if they engineered it enough. AKA big enough heat exchangers etc. The answer seems to be no they did not

My Z reached limp mode after 30 sec on top speed. It was on 220 then suddenly close to top speed it jumped 260+. 93f that day.

I hear ya with the limp mode 2ndchance, it was 110 out when I went canyon carving last june when I first got my z. I went canyon carving and was pushing my car about 90% but not close to redlineing the car and my oil shot from 220-260 within 30 seconds and all I was doing was canyon carving. My 34row cooler I have now is EXTREMELY efficient at cooling, to the point that the cooler months I run a block off plate to slow the air flow for controlled oil temps. If it gets below 67 outside the oil drops below 180 even though I have the mocal adapter plate.
