Because it's Guam.

On the same note, there isn't an AWD dyno in Hawaii.

Kingbaby 09-25-2012 05:27 PM

Yes there is...

edub370 09-26-2012 08:00 AM

how much would it cost to ship your car there?

7419sundat 09-26-2012 06:42 PM

Did you drop it off today?

From Guam to Hawaii is a couple of grand. Maybe upwards of $3-5K.

Kingbaby 09-27-2012 04:37 AM

clearly not worth it....

bump for driver impressions/video/flybys

all that exciting stuff

JC671 09-28-2012 05:22 PM

It'll be interesting to see how the car responds. GL man and I hope the install goes well. When your tuned and running right we can run again (no bottle like last time):driving:

Kingbaby 09-28-2012 05:43 PM

nice

7419sundat 10-01-2012 06:41 PM

Any updates?

Z_ealot 10-05-2012 08:24 AM

ok it has been a week since navyboy dropped the car off, any updates at all?

red6spd 10-05-2012 11:04 AM

So let me get this straight. He is having them installed but will not have dyno numbers because there is no dyno, which I can also assume he cant dyno tune the car to find out if the car is running properly with the cams?

That sounds about correct....:ugh2:

edub370 10-05-2012 01:48 PM

not necessarily true. hook up a wideband o2 sensor to read AFR's and u can street tune it just fine

Navyboy916 10-16-2012 06:06 PM

Ok so here the update. Friday I will be going to take pics of the engine when it's open. I had to wait for some seal to come in cause the dealership had none for when they put the engine covers back on. They just came in. The can install will be finished by beginning of next week. The Nissan manual calls for two to three full days but here on Guam I have to plan for longer. That's just the island life here lol. I am getting other things done to the car as well at the same time. Sorry for the long delay. That's what happens when u live on an island in the middle of bum **** nowhere lol. Hope u guys are still interested.

Wow -- good luck!

Do you have a baseline to compare it to?

Navyboy916 10-17-2012 07:26 PM

Unfortunately we don't have a dyno here on Guam. I don't have actual numbers but I will show video to help people decide if they want to get the cams. Sorry that's the best I can do.

I find it odd that the only person who does cams does it OUTSIDE the US, in one of the only places without a dyno.

No offense, but I just find it weird.

Navyboy916 10-17-2012 08:15 PM

Obviously u have never been to Guam. It's an island in the middle of nowhere. I have a couple of other guys with 370z on here they can chime in and will say the same thing. Again sorry this island is pretty primitive still.

370Z Purist 10-17-2012 08:54 PM

No, I have not been to Guam, but that's exactly what I just said.

The only person to do cams, in the middle of nowhere.

DarkJak 10-17-2012 09:51 PM

Of course it WOULD work that way, but hopefully his results will be good, and this may convince people in the US to get it.

But... how will we (or you?) know if it made a worthwhile difference? :(

Can you at least datalog a 0-60 or 1/8th mile (or ideally a 1/4 mile) run somewhere to compare and contrast before and after cams?

Actually, given known weight and some values for speed, we can probably find formulas to roughly estimate whp before and after.

Not as good as a dyno, but far better than nothing.

Navyboy916 10-18-2012 01:04 AM

I hope this will convince someone in the states to buy these cams and get them dynoed.

I have a set on the way to to me. It probably will be late November by the time I get them though. But we will have dyno numbers soon.

So is the car really in there now? Just saying last time you said you dropped off your car already and they were working on it. Then you said you didn't drop it cause Nissan had no rental cars (hard to believe). Then you said you wouldn't take it to Nissan cause this and that. Alot is not adding up. Nissan is 5 mins from my house. If I go over right now is your car there?

Oh so you don't have actual numbers or ever dynoed your car?
Please explain your comment in this video where you claimed 334whp and 276 trq.
370z in Guam with mods - YouTube

Keep in mind folks this comment was made over 9 months ago.:shakes head: I've never seen someone reach those numbers without LTH, pulleys and you claimed you made this with just the Ark CBE, stillen headers shorty header and berk CBE only.

Dude there has been a myriad of things you have told me on text that make me say "Oh really!?!?!" I can take screen shots and post them if you like, if you come on here and try to discredit this.

Just be real dude. IDK if you thought that you was talking to someone who this is their first car but this car is not my first rodeo. I caught on and just left you alone. But please stop telling lies on this forum and on youtube.

Navyboy916 10-18-2012 10:32 PM

I am not here to fight or argue with anyone. But go look my car is at Nissan. Save the **** talking this is not the place for it. You have a problem then talk to me not on this forum.

Here are some more pics I took today and the progress. I just took them my new trans cooler and the Hks spark plugs. My nst pulley set will be here hopefully this week to. Tomorrow the timing chain is coming off and I will take pics of that.

indyn 10-22-2012 10:19 AM

The VVEL assembly has to come off to get to the exhaust cams. It is taking a bit too long, nevertheless have to give props to the dealership in Guam for doing this.

Good god another 2 weeks? Thats going to be a heafty service bill!!

Navyboy916 10-22-2012 03:42 PM

I have having them install the Stillen trans cooler and nst pulley set and Hks plugs. Well people have waited this long they can wait a little longer. Plus I am trying to order the Gtm valve springs and retainers and if its a go with them I will wait till they get here and have those installed at the same time.
