Sucks. Well keep it up man.

ChipsWithDips 04-18-2012 01:34 PM

zuperman, have you checked with this shop? Power Maker DYNO

They show up on the uprev dealers page and I think would not be too far from you. UpRev - Engine Management

Thanx man for helping out, they are basically tuners, they only deal with tuning cars, I was actually going to use their services to uprev my car, heard that they are good and have experience with that

zuperman 370 04-18-2012 02:07 PM

So update, after asking around various places and doing a lot of reading and reaserch, turns out that this is really a 14 to 20 hour job, I was having second doubts about installing it at cuz the guy gave me a sky high rate, I will try to haggle with him, and get a bit lowered price, and install these bad boys after all, even though the install price will be high, but I have to bite the bullet one more time I inched close I can't turn back now lol pluse I can't turn my back on you guys after all of you have been waiting for results. Will go with the high price guy cuz he is the only one who seems to know what he is talking about pluse he has worked with tons of gtr's so he know the basic lay out of the Nissan engine plus he has worked on tons of evos as well

zuperman 370 04-18-2012 02:26 PM

This should get your juices running :D now don't really know how the jun cams will sound but if my car ends up sounding half as mean as that I'll be a happy man, at least even if I get minimum gains I'll enjoy the sound loool pls listen to the sound clips loved them

It's an easy 12+ on an hr. I suppose the vhr might take a bit more time.

zuperman 370 04-19-2012 01:00 PM

yeh app 12 hours 14 if your gonna take your time, it is more complicated on your car with the vvel and stuff

TerribleONE 04-19-2012 01:10 PM

After looking at the Nismo cams on the 350 I defiantly see what's involved

So what do you think is it a risky job? But the 350 is a bit different than the 370 isn't it, shops here have a lot of experience with 350 but none so ever with 370 will that help?

It doesn't seem risky IMO but im not all sure of what's involved with the VVEL. It would seem as long as the VVEL control module is taken off and reinstalled carefully there would be no issues.

zuperman 370 04-19-2012 05:47 PM

That's my main issue will they take care of that and be carfule I mean even if I tell them will they, that's my only concern

SPOHN 04-19-2012 05:51 PM

I've been looking at some video of the VVEL and it really is a simple mechanical piece. Probably not much more than a bolt on affair which still requires proper care.

According to AllData it's actually a 16 hour job as per their time guide. 16.3 to be exact.

Yea I know. I already corrected myself a few post later. Read threw please.

370Z JT 04-20-2012 04:33 PM

16hr X $100 = $1600 for labor.
$700 for the JUN cams.
$250 for a Uprev re-tune
Not to mention possible $$ for new springs

~$2550 total.

For me to justify this mod, minimum gain of +20WHP is a must.

zuperman 370 04-20-2012 04:36 PM

Ok guys found an install car going under the knif this week

I know but I figured I would throw real times into the discussion as everyone is using guesses and approximations, just trying to help a little.

I'm not extremley familiar with AllData and the time guide they use but if that is warranty time as per Nissan than getting an outside shop to do that for an aftermarket cam install is a steal. Normally customer pay is 1.5x warranty so that would be 24.5 hours for this job, assuming AllData uses warranty times and there are no addition op codes for this job.

SPOHN 04-20-2012 05:23 PM

I'd like to have this mod also. But I know one day Ill be FI (TT) wit built motor. Probably best to wait then. Being the motor will be tore apart anyways theres really not much add cost in doing this.
