:tup:The heads are currently being worked by the GTM they started working on the heads. I hope they are done soon cause the car being down really sucks right now. I know once I get them back it will be sweet. I also just bought the HD flex plate for the transmission. I have read some people changing the pistons and rods and actually working the bottom end. I want to keep the bottom end stock right now I have only 8500 miles on the car and the block is pretty stout. GTM even told me that the heads on our motors is where the power is and unleashing that power might not make power close to a turbo or supercharger kit but the reliability is still there and hearing that engine scream is music to my ears. Plus, I still smash on FORDS all day.:happydance:

When I talked to JUN they said the stock valve train could be used but they couldn't promise that they would last due to the high duration of the cams. They are currently making the new valve train set to go along with these cams. They said it goes hand in hand when swapping the cams out you should swap out the valve train. That was from JUN. I am spending the extra money and doing this right cause if you break something internal the consequences could be worse then if you just swapped the parts out.

Much smarter doing it the way your doing, there is no such thing as cheap and reliable. Hopefully this cab be a much cheaper alternative to a TT or SC setup and make some decent power... Fingers crossed.

I have read a lot of these post and notice that people have their idea of what is going to make power with these motors. I told myself just stick with the bolt ons and then work on the heads cause no matter how technologically advanced these motors become the basics of engine building still has to be considered so with any motor the true power lies in the heads. This is for everyone stick to the basics and remember the JUN cams are exhaust cams only.

Up until recently, we only had half the equation to work with regarding the heads. With VVEL tuning in it's infancy, and these cams, this is truly a ground breaking time for the VHR's. Getting your heads done @ GTM is like icing on the cake. I won't doubt that within a year, UPrev will be including an upcharge for VVEL tuning on top of their normal etuning services.

" HD flex plate for the 7 AT " what is that
Z |
It's a heavy duty plate that is attached to the engine that connects the crank to the transmission. Like the flywheel for a manual

As of right now I am not planning on swapping out the gears. I might later when i get back to the states. Here is a pic of my new motor mounts from Z1 Motorsports.:happydance: These should help with the flexing of the motor they are really stout and well made.

Z1 tested these out and these being urethane had no vibration at all.

Where did you get the HD flex plate from?
I had mine heat treated at GTM. It on the car now with the stage 4 GTM tranney. Still have to put the flash in it. With the stock fuel curve in the car it pulls way harder than my stock 7 AT. Z |
