So can an uprev do actually engine tuning. A friend was saying for his s2k that there are four different Ecus and apparently to actually tune the engine you have

So can an uprev do actually engine tuning. A friend was saying for his s2k that there are four different Ecus and apparently to actually tune the engine you have to put a new one in because the ecu that tunes the engine isn't bridged. I thought it's a load of bs but I really don't know that much about it honestly. He said the shop told him 370s are the same way, I called bs buy just trying to see if anyone can confirm or deny. Thanks.
