Default Oil cooler fan, thermo and shroud, good oil temps now

I have a 25 row oil cooler - which worked fine if the car was moving at a decent speed. However, I live in Los Angeles, so sadly most of my driving is in traffic (LA traffic is as bad as you've heard), and often in warm weather. My oil temps were often in the 220-240 range, and sometimes higher.

The solution was a 9 inch Spal pusher fan installed in front of the oil cooler with a custom fan shroud. Seb at Specialty Z fabricated the shroud and did a super clean install. The shroud is 9" and tapers to about the 7.5" height of the oil cooler. The shroud installs over the damper.

The fan is activated by a thermostat threaded into the oil pan with a custom bung. It turns on at 195 degrees. Oil pan customization was also done by Specialty Z.

Temps are now 200, 210 degrees at the most. When stopped I've seen the temp creep down when stopped at a light.

The fan was $79.45 (9" Straight Blade Low Profile Fan / 12V Pusher):

SPAL USA

The relay kit and 195 degree thermo was $57.68 (195FH Fan Harness Kit)

SPAL USA

The mounting brackets are like feet that attach to the fan. They are $2-$5.

Bought a new oil pan for about $40 I think. Seb had a hole drilled in it an a nut welded to it for the thermo.

The fan shroud. Umm, well, the fan shroud was a 9" pie pan that I bought at the grocery store! 2 for $5 with a non stick finish that Seb scrubbed off and painted.

Not sure how much the labor was exactly because Specialty Z had the car opened up for CAI installation.
