Hey man that video you did of chasing ferraris on some mountain roads out west was the reason that I purchased my Z, well i guess there was other reasons as well, but I watched that video and the sound was sooooooooooooo much better than my beastly GTI that I had to get a Z. Although my GTI would destroy almost all Z's I still like the Z better. anyway.... any pics of the 2012 with both coolers would be really great.

I am in also with instruction/pictures, I need to order this ASAP as well. I didn't know it was so easy to piggy back a 2nd sandwich plate.
Edit: Forgot to mention, how many rows are people running that has the stock oil cooler+your kit. Don't want to cool the oil too much for daily driving......but take the car to the track often. Last edited by martin82; 01-25-2012 at 07:22 PM. |

You have two choices:
1. Delete the factory water/oil heat exchanger sandwich plate and just join the coolant lines together - but you must fit a thermostatic sandwich plate otherwise your oil takes ages to heat up. 2. Stack/piggyback the external oil cooler on top of the stock heat exchanger by fitting the external cooler system's sandwich plate literally in between the stock unit and the standard size oil filter. It's a tight squeeze from people's reports but it's not impossible. I believe Stillen kits require a specific model oil filter which they outline in the instructions. I am dumping the factory cooler for the 2012 and going with a thermostatic mocal plate with a 34 row Setrab oil cooler. Just buy a kit with everything you need. I got mine for F.I. No since in keeping the factory unit, it just heats it up even more.
