Key indicator light is on and car won't start

Double check foot solidly on brake and switch held down long enough. There has been problems with the car recognizing the key. I think the quick fix was to disconnect

There has been problems with the car recognizing the key. I think the quick fix was to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and then try again but not sure about that. Hopefully someone who knows will chime in. Good luck
