Default Auto Stuck In Park

I don't feel like posting this on a Maxima forum and having to sign up and all that....

But I was wiring up a custom radar detector power cord to the back of the Homelink mirror in my sisters 2010 Maxima, and it caused the Auto Tranny to be stuck in park, HVAC controls went out, and Home Link mirror went out. There was a blown fuse in the inside fuse panel. It was some battery saver or something; #10 fuse, top row and 2nd from right. Just an FYI in case anyone needs it.

Next time, disconnect the negative battery cable before messing with electrical stuff.

jikhead, you just saved my butt! I was doing the exact same thing on my '13 Z and had the exact same symptoms. On the Z passenger compartment fusebox, it was a 10A, the third from the top on the left. The fuse identifier label on my cover appears to be completely inaccurate - doesn't match up at all with what is in there from the stealership, so I have no idea what the fuse is supposed to be labeled as. I was guessing a higher amp fuse based on the amount of stuff it knocked out. Amen to what vividracing said! Thanks!

Default Mine too

I have a 2012 base coupe. Exact same set of problems. Inside fuse box has 2 columns of fuses was it 10 amp? Do you know how the culprit was labeled on fusebox chart? They aren't numbered (#10). I can't locate it but has to be the problem. Really don't want to face the dealer (was trying to reprogram TPMS via YouTube (youstupe?).
