If you had a 1/0 cable going to your starter and grounded it with a 16ga wire, there would be a need for a larger ground. If you have a 4ga power and a 4ga ground, then there is no need.

Grounding kits are the dumbest thing since Canada.
You're assuming that the grounds in place from the factory are optimal, which they usually aren't. They WORK, but they aren't the best.

If you think you'll benefit from a grounding kit, then just buy bulk wire and terminals and do it yourself.
