Default Oil Leak

I've read quite a bit on oil consumption, but little about leaks. My 2010 with 4500 miles developed a leak. After taking it to the dealer today, they feel the rear main engine seal is leaking. Needless to say I'm disappointed the transmission has to come out for the repair. Has anyone else heard of this happening so soon? Should I be concerned about the clutch or anything else?

I appreciate any feedback provided.

Thanks

These things happen. Good thing it's under warranty. The seal might of been pinched when originally installed if that's what it is. I wouldn't worry about anything else.

I hope it is just a pinched seal. Having it under warranty is a good thing.

I just found an oil leak today
I think its coming from the oil pan gasket but its hard to see. It may be higher up.
There is oil all over the rearward edge of the oil pan and on the plastic cover.
None near the oil filter or drain plug.

Let us know how it goes at the dealership. I'm scared about having a dealership remove the transmission. I am 90% sure they will fk something else up in the process. The 3 dealerships around me have proven themselves unworthy of my business, Courtesy Nissan included.

My leak ended up being the rear main seal. The dealer found silicone on the crank shaft rubbing on the seal. They felt this happened while the oil pan was installed at the factory. The car came back perfect!

Glad to hear it You've found one of the good dealerships!
This morning I took the under-cover off and cleaned up every little drip on it, the oil pan, and any other area I could access. I'll drive around a couple days then check the area again to see where the leak is really coming from.
