I'll replace what i have to but, there will definitely be work done to keep as much of the cars features as possible.
|
I've spoken to Chris Forsberg directly about this, his shop does all his work on his formula D drift 370z. He said anywhere from $20,000-$100,000 to do a proper vk56 that actually runs and performs like a performance engine. But it would be MUCH cheaper to do an LS swap. Only reason they have vk56 is cause they are sponsored by nissan and have whatever funds to keep his car as nissan as possible to support the brand.
So unless you are filthy rich and have no regards to blowing excessive amounts of money to make this happen and be a build that actually performs, lasts, and have even more money to be able to afford mantainance. Its a fools build. If you want v8 power and torque, swap in an LS motor. |
just wait a month

Id save my self the trouble and buy a vette
|
I like the look of the Z better, and the cost difference will be minimal, especially since it is going to have more than ZR1 level power.

I have been waiting for this! No negative comments from me, make this happen brother!
|
:iagree:
Plus the Z is the better looking car, sexy :yum: then to do the vk swap would make the power better to! |
Amen!
Everyone told me I was stupid for swapping in an RB engine and I should've went with a 2JZ engine on my G37. Screw that! Can't have a Toyota heart in a Nissan/Infiniti baby! :D |
 good job staying in the blood lines. Just like everyone sayin to do an LS swap :shakes head:
VK56  |
Yeah, waiting on progress...
I'm thinking I have a V8 swap in my future rather than spending 10K+ on a forced induction setup. (I'll probably go LS, but yeah, the VK is awesome) |
Been busy lately I just have to put all info together but I havent quite got the time hopefully today or monday, may be as late as next friday tho.
|
I hope your project is moving. I tried to get some info of getting VQ35/37 and VK45/56 running in other chassis. Best bit is to contact Zfever in florida.
Doug the guy there can run the engine perfectly with VQ35 wiring and ECU and will add two more wires for extra injectors, and get you a uprev tune as well all for under 1000$, you will bypass all NATS and doesnt require BCM module as well. As you already have the ecu and wiring of VQ costs might be less. |
ewwww. LS swaps are soooooooooo played out. i'm not gonna lie, i usually cant walk past an LS swapped car at a car show any faster. just seems like an unoriginal shortcut at this point
