No they went about it a bit diferentlythan most. One im not using a sequential and if i did it would be the quaife 350z unit so i wont be making a different drive shaft and my trans adapter will be much simpler. two. i dont need the engine touch the firewall because this will not be a pro race car, yet, 3. the vk and stock pan will fit no need to change steering rack. See where this is going? My policy is dont crazy **** because this isnt a pro time attack car. Hell mckinney makes mounts for the swap.

U tell me why i need to stick 10 grand into it to move a 35lb heavier motor 2 more inches towards the firewall. Im just gonna move the battery.

Yeah giving my self a year and a half for the whole project. budget has 4300 remaining after motor. Plan is itb's, megasquirt, adapter plate and flywheel, coated piston tops, thicker mls headgasket, motor refresh, and a single turbo setup, engine mounts and accesory brakeckets too. lots of stuff to do.

Ah, a megasquirt guy

Very cool -- keep us posted!

Yeah thinkin of using the msII 3.57 with ms3x. factory nissan coils with built in ignitors for cop new cam and crank trigger for full sequencial fire and fuel. Havent decided on injectors yet tho wether to go low our high, and as for what style be it bosch our denso or what.

I would do a RB26 if I had the funds for it :), they have a few 350s with RBs I'm sure the 370 would be better

I thought the high imped. injectors tended to be a little more reliable, but also tend to be more expensive, especially as they get bigger -- its been a while since I've thought about all this stuff :p

I'm definitely a fan of denso injectors. They tend to have really good atomization characteristics. SARD has a nice selection of high flow Densos.

How much power are you aiming to make?

look into Injector Dynamics - Main Menu , top notch company. Good luck w/ the build, loving the creativity!

Wanna set it up for 850 but probably going to work up to that. Looking for at least 450 wheel to start with witch should be cake.

Hopefully getting my own garage for the first so i can start really working on it.

took manifold into work and got the dimensions from it off the CMM starting to draw up a manifold setup

Ok an update on the update for this. Progress has been made, i moved to cali, got a new job, and will be posting with some minor progress and the complete plan soon. It WILL happen.

This should be interesting.. subscribing!

Have you thought about the instrument cluster? How will you get the RPM to work? You could keep your intelligent key btw and use a separate switch/button to start the car.

Will you be using an A/C too?

1slow370 03-10-2013 06:46 AM

A/C yes, the rest of it, well i'll cross that bridge when i get there, gonna try to keep as much of the factory parts as possible it will all make sense soon. Probably gonna start a new thread within the month with juicy details and stack of pictures i have here. To be humble it's gonna blow some minds. Hoping to be done with it this summer.

What about a standalone ECU like Haltech or something?

Sounds great, I'm not doubting your build or anything please don't get me wrong, I'm just wondering because I swapped an RB Engine in and apart from the fact that my dashboard is lit up like a christmas tree, I couldn't get the Tacho to work, nor could I trigger the A/C compressor clutch from OEM controls. I also had to get a second switch to start the car (kept the i-key). I also swapped in an RB25 5MT which left my reverse light and camera not working too. But as you said, I'll cross that bridge when it needs to be crossed. For now I just wanna drive the damn thing! Good luck with your build man.
