The voltage drop across a diode is typically 0.6V, shouldn't be enough to bother anything, especially since it will only be effecting the trailer. Just did a search on digikey.com

The voltage drop across a diode is typically 0.6V, shouldn't be enough to bother anything, especially since it will only be effecting the trailer.
Just did a search on digikey.com and 15A 200V diode are $0.89 each. You would need 4.
