Thanks for the info, but as I said the noise is gone and the mighty VQ is purring like a kitten. For the life of me I can't understand how that hose clamp came loose, unless, the day that it all started I had the oil changed at my local Mobil one center and I can't help wondering if someone there was playing games and intentionaly loosened it. No matter, I now know how the engine sounds like if that problem reoccurs.
