Default Tranny Issues

I have a 08 G37 and its been a fun car and has had only minor issues. One of those issues has been my tranny . I had a nasty tin can rattle anytime the car would be idling . I would press in my clutch and it goes away . I know there is some noise associated with this tranny . Infiniti replaced it and the sound is back . The problem is it does not do it all the time and when it does its extremely loud . I want to install my aftermarket clutch but I dont know what this sound is. Any suggestions ??? Thanx !

the G and Z transmissions are inherently noisy. there's nothing wrong with your car. i've gotten used to mine.

if its a REALLY loud tin can could be bad clutch chatter and your pressure plate fingers could be bent or misshapen.

also the throw out bearing a little hydraulic cylinder with a bearing on the end of it that pushes the clutch in, when ever the dealer replaces a tranny the manual says they have to change it out so it probably isn't the real problem neither is the tranny unless you are getting two defective ones in a row(witch doesn't really happen). thats why i say i would suspect the clutch and flywheel if it is loud enough. some aftermarket clutches will chatter too just because they aren't dampened like stock ones are

My throw out bearing is noisy too... it's the first thing I noticed when I started driving my car. I thought it was abnormal but apparently it isn't.

Hey umm it can also be the CQC its usually breaks if you press and hold the clutch often you can find a heavy duty one here 350z 370z heavy duty CSC Concentic clutch slave cylinder funny last time i checked it used to be $250 i guess the demand went up. Or maybe if you have some extra $ laying around and you would like to get a lighter flywheel and clutch and and an even better CQC i suggest and i bet every one here would 2, get one of these Z-1 Performance Automotive Services Inc. - ATS Multidisk Clutches 2009 + 370Z (VQ37HR) yeah its a little expensive but if you love you're ride like me you would get one 2.

no it's in the nissan factory service manual that every time you take the transmission out of the car you NEED to replace the CSC (throwout bearing) they did bad work and didn't follow procedure if they left it in. that's the kind of shop that would take your heads off for work but not replace the vvel sub-assemblies because they are $300 each but they have to be replaced every time they are taken off according to the manual.
