I have booked an appointment to get it checked out as my car is still under warranty.

Anything to worry about?

Hopefully you are right, and it is a faulty gas cap.

I wouldn't worry until the dealer tries to pull some crap and tell you that it's something that's not covered under warranty

You shouldn't have to pay a dime, especially if you're under warranty. Even if you weren't under warranty, the dealer should be willing to do simple diagnostics like read a code for no charge. If a dealer ever tries to charge you for that, go to a local auto shop and they will let you borrow a code reader for free to use in the parking lot. Then write down the code, and do some research on the forum.

I'd start there anyway to make sure it isn't something simple like the gas cap before I spend hours at the dealer.

This is an excellent point. I find a trip to the dealer typically wastes a half day minimum.

Always good to invest in a cheap code reader to avoid trips to the dealer.

I brought this up an another recent (similar) thread. Isn't the SES light just a notification that service is due based on mileage/engine hours/RPM/etc, as opposed to the CEL, which indicates a potential emissions/electrical/engine issue?? What code is a SES going to show? That's not it's purpose. I've only had my Z for a few months, but the SES vs. CEL issue should be the same. Anyone?

SES is the same thing as the check engine . and the code could be anything . having a code reader is a good thing . you can set the computer in the car to alert you if a service is due oil or tires at a certain miles but its not gonna turn the SES light on
