I am amazed that they can get 332 HP out of such a small motor, it was not long ago that if you got 1 HP per CI you where doing good.

F1 gets around 750 outta 2.4l NA

And next year its probably the same outta 1.6l turbo

A lot of the things that we used to do to get more HP out of a motor (balancing, blueprinting, porting, &c) are already done at the factory. Which is why it costs so much to get any more out of these engines.
