So I passed on the video and dealer info that you sent to me and no updates as of right now! ......so still waiting! Pretty awesome, got a 13 model Z with 4600 miles on it and no one has a clue what is wrong.:shakes head: Hoping they check out those fuel injectors...:ugh2:

djpheer 07-20-2013 12:01 PM

Good luck buddy

RustyM2001 07-21-2013 12:45 AM

Thanks bro! She is still at the dealership. I passed along all the info you sent to me. They aren't using any of it though. Keep doing what Nissan advises them to check. They think its electrical, and I think that its the same issue you were having. Oh well, I'll just continue to drive this loaner Rogue like I stole it.(which is another joke in itself) I'll keep everyone updated.

Update for the time being is.......they are gonna change out my fuel pump and see how that goes. I hope something works! I want my Z back! "I wanna go fast!" - Ricky Bobby

So after being in the shop for 3 weeks, I got her back today! They changed the fuel pump on Monday, which didn't work. Then overnighted the fuel injectors and swapped them out this morning. The Z is running perfectly now..... problem solved! Thanks again, to djpheer!:tiphat::driving:

Hi all,

Having the same problems as many of you here. Anybody have any information regarding a service dept in SoCal that knows about this issue, called a couple and they said they would have to keep the car, wire it up to the computers and try to replicate the problem before they proceed.

Is it plausible to ask them to just check the fuel injectors and also is that inspection and replacement covered under the factory 50,000 mile warranty?

Thanks in advanced

RustyM2001 04-06-2014 02:05 PM

I believe this would fall under the 50K warranty. My dealership didn't even test the injectors. They checked the fuel system and replaced the fuel pump. After having my car for almost a month, I said lemon law, and they finally replaced the injectors. They replaced all of them, because they told me that they couldn't test each one in their shop. The issue would only happen to my Z after she set for a few hours. If your issue looks like djpheer's video, I can guarantee that its the injectors. It was spot on with my issue. Good luck to you! I hope that you get your girl fixed soon.

I went into my dealer's service department and told them about my problem. He was pretty understanding and said he would test the fuel pressure system. Said if that was the problem it would be replaced under warranty so might as well check it anyways. He had the car for about 1.5 hours, said they can a test of the pressure of the entire fuel system and there was nothing wrong. They measured the pressure over 30 minutes with no problems.

I was not able to replicate the problem at the dealership so I understood they couldn't do anything about that. They would have to attempt to replicate it and go from there. Problem is, about 3 days later I would have trouble starting the engine again. It would crank, struggle, and just die. It would only start after 3 attempts to start the car.

I don't know what I should do at this point, I'm at 44,000 miles and 2 months away from my 3 year warranty being up. I'd love to get it fixed, the car runs beautifully otherwise. I'd just hate to encounter a problem down the line after the warranty has expired.

I am curious....are the cars being parked overnight on slants or other elevations besides level?

ALX370Z 06-20-2014 09:11 PM

Nope, the cars parked in my driveway. Which is pretty leveled, no significant slant or anything.

I welcome myself to this club. experienced this problem today. car hesitated to start after sitting an for an hr. I got nervous so I shut it off and restarted and got similar issue. There no heavy cranking noise but it just starts up then idles back down then the engine cuts off. From what I am reading it seems like injectors. Could it be a combination of plugs as well?

Same thing

^ happens to me too. I have a 2014. Let me know if you resolve the problem. I am from MA too.

Thanks!

I have encountered this issue a little here and there (I'm at 93k miles). My solution was to give the car just a little gas during start up and it would always start up this way. Is this problematic? Am I doing damage to the car by doing this?
