I tend to use the paddles more because when I try to use the shifter in manual, I find it would have been better the pull back to upshift, and push forward to downshift... Well Nissan doesn't agree with me, so usually what happens is I'll get goin, and pull back on it causing a massive lurch forward lol followed by a string of obsenities from me

i quite agree with this sentence, i hate how all manufacturers do it differently. tempted just to open it up and swap the wires around =_=. wondering if its possible and how easy it would be.

I drive the manuel, and always pull towards me to down shift into second so this seems natural, I agree with Nissan. I am always going through second unlike fourth and up. Yes I push forward to down shift into third from fourth but fourth is a far less used. Maybe it is because a manuel stick tells you what gear it is in by feel.

I disagree with you as well. pushing the stick forward is like up and pulling it back would be like down so it makes sense to me.

I use both but trying to use the paddles more since I found out pushing the stick forward when in auto mode is not a good thing...

I just base it off of how whenever you see someone in a movie (I know hollywood, but still and NO I'm not talking about any F&F movie ) that whenever you see them slam it down into gear its always pulling it towards them from a passenger floorboard angle looking up at the driver... So I always see that playing in my mind when I get on the gas lol
