well a depression is different than a recession as it is longer and bigger. We are still in a recession as we are importing more than exporting and our trade and of prosperity is not up to par as a whole. Now weather it was worse with reagan and all Im not sure but believe me, we are still ****** right now as a country. And thse with jobs are holding back too. In here you will see alot of younger people buying things as they may not have the overall bills that some older people do, ie families to support, kids in college etc. Sure there are always exceptions but for the most part its the younger generation buying things right now. The older generation is trying to secure their retirement and not spending.

What you say makes sense to me but the fact is we are no longer in a recession. That ended a while back.
