There's a hell of a lot of stuff out there I'd buy before I drop 12k on a transmission. Now, if I won a big scratchoff lottery ticket or hit it big in Vegas, maybe.

They $25,900 with cross member and all other needed hardware! Not gonna happen!

So the Quaife is the budget alternative? Holy ****.

Dzel 07-17-2013 07:56 PM

I suppose they didn't give me a price. But either way it's going to be a no go for me. I'll just make do with a short throw shifter, a heavy duty clutch, and flywheel replacement

Anything manufactured by Quaife is going to be expensive. They're building these transmissions with racing in mind. Most people that spend high dollars on these components, aren't putting it in a daily driven vehicle that they might floor it once in a while.

Gawddamn, if I won the lotto for like, just $10k, I would do it.

Shift like a boss all day every day!

Oh I'm not building a DD but I still can not justify the cost at this time maybe here in a couple of years it'll be different.

In order to get a wife on board with something like this, you need to buy her something she wants that costs a little more. That way you can pull the "It's cheaper than the X I just bought you" card.

Dzel 07-19-2013 12:52 PM

Omg! I was talking to the wife about it and guess what she wants! A $13,000 emerald cut diamond! I said you can't drive a diamond. Her response was you can't **** a car! Lol love my wife.

So you're set. Get the jewelry and she can't complain about the transmission.

Dzel 07-19-2013 05:11 PM

Yes sir but it'll still be a couple of years. I'll have to pay off her rock first. Then save for the tranny. Or I can just tear up this transmission and be like Damn guess I HAVE to replace it now!

It's better to ask for forgiveness, then to ask for permission. ;)
