Realistically, every 3 months or 3000 - 4000 miles is probably fine, and even a bit longer using full synthetic.
Blackstone oil analyses usally point to waiting over changing too frequently. That said, I check the oil about once a month, and as I approach 3K, once every week ot two. If it looks dirty, time to replace; if it looks low, time to top off.
