At my first oil change at the Nissan/BMW dealer, the Nissan service chief absolutely insisted that the Zs do not come to them with esther oil in 'em, just plain old Shell 5W-30. Now, I have a case of RP 5W-20 left from my RX-8 days. But when I asked if it was OK to use 5W-20 synthetic in my Z, the other service chief (BMW this time) practically jumped out of his chair to say "no, don't do it, you need the 5-30 in that car." I know some of the older hands here are sick of oil-talk, but there are many of us who are relatively new to the car. ![]() |
