First oil change coming up, need some advice.

LiquidZ is right on the money regarding Fram; they're right at the bottom of the list the engineer did on oil filters.

If it's the study I'm thinking of, he did not test Fram's Extended Guard oil filter - in fact, I believe the Extended Guard line is relatively new and the study was done a number of years ago.
