sweet!

So you sell the adapter plate with thermostat and two sensor ports outside of the kit? If so, I'm in for pricing.

Prosport Gauges 08-20-2010 01:18 PM

Well the adapter plate come with the oil cooler.

or you can buy any oil cooler kit you feel like and drill 2 11/32 holes into the plate and tap them with 1/8NPT yourself if your competent, and if you borrow the tap it costs you nothing! Edit: sorry Ryan but I'm all for supporting DIY'ers no harm meant

I wish it was that easy. Every oil adapter plate I've seen without one, doesn't have enough metal to be able to support a 1/8 NPT port unless it's designed to have one with enough material present.

You could also buy a Tee off the stock pressure sender

Yes and it's even the common 1/8 NPT size

1slow370 08-21-2010 03:44 PM

i dunno there is some debate to that hole for the pressure sendor being 1/8npt i was putting a sensor on a 350z for a friend and we had to retap the hole because it was either 1/8 nps or 1/8 bsp. either way it's close to 1/8 npt

cossie1600 08-21-2010 07:19 PM

Just do a search on the SR20 forum, I believe it is BSPT, which is slightly different than NPT. The T I saw was around $45 bucks, I would probably get a zip tie or something to hold it up as it can be a lot of stress to stick the thing that far from the block

Prosport Gauges 08-21-2010 07:29 PM

Im 90% sure the stock pressure sensor is a 1/8th NPT. While we are on that subject. the stock pressure sensor IMO will only tell you once the pressure gets super low. Were as the adapter plate we offer shows actual pressure flowing through the oil filter.

cossie1600 08-21-2010 09:53 PM

It is NOT NPT, it is BSP. You screw a 1/8 NPT in there, you risk ruining the threads or leaks.

Nissan and Mazda have used BSP for some reason

This is what you will need

NISsport Oil Pressure Adapter

The 350Z used a different fitting from a 370Z. I can guarantee that the oil pressure fitting is 1/8" NPT as I have it out, measured and replaced with a 1/8" NPT Tee fitting.

They look almost identical unless you compare them under a magnifying glass. How did you determine that it was NPT and not BSP?

Measure the thread pitch, (27 not 28) double check with the thread die and triple checked with a 1/8NPT & 1/8BSP fittings. It fits with the NPT and didn't fit the BSP thread. Plus the BSP thread is far more tapered than the NPT thread. It's quite easy to tell the difference when they are side by side. It's quite easy to figure out if you have the right tools and measurement equipment.

Not to mention since the DEFi oil pressure gauge sensor point is already installed with the OEM oil pressure sensor with a 1/8" NPT Tee fitting.
This is how I know for sure and can guarantee that it is a 1/8" NPT.

I thought it was always BSPT from Nissan. I know for sure the older cars all are.

Yes, side by side is the easiest way to tell, makes the thread taper much more apparent. +rep for doing your homework.

oilcoocler is back on with the heavy duty crimped lines running great havent broken 200 yet.

Zat_Zuma 08-22-2010 03:40 PM

I was expecting that and was prepared for it. I was surprised it was a NPT thread.
