HELP: Car won't start!

Not sure what is going on. I can't start my car! I get battery and ACC fine. I press in the clutch then the start button and I hear a sound for 3 seconds then nothing and then it switches to ACC mode... I see 12V on the volt guage so it can't be a low battery right?

Try putting the fob in the slot and try again...

If he has a clutch he doesn't press the brake to start ...

added: unless the car is suddenly confused and thinks it is an auto...

Tried another fob, no go. I get a motorized sound for a few seconds. If I leave it there I get a buzzing sound from the engine bay.

Did a search and I guess I have a bad ECU! I'm getting the exact same thing.

Would installing illuminated kick panels have something to do with it? Everything was fine for a few weeks until today. But I do recall having to remove and re install a harness around the ECU area...

Could be the crank sensors

It looks like it might be the IPDM. Looks like i'm getting it towed in tomorrow!

I believe the end result for the thread that you linked to was the IPDM and not the ECU. This could be your problem. There is also a bad problem with the steering wheel locks in the Nissan cars. The GT-R guys (myself included) received voluntary recalls to replace this part. Do you hear the steering wheel lock disengage when you press the Start button? It should sound like a single "whir" coming from the steering column. If not, then this is most likely your issue.

Steering wheel lock is working normal. I feel it release and I get a whirr sound.

So where is this IPDM located?

The IPDM is located on the passenger side near the main fuse box.

In for warranty. They pay the towing too.

I found and opened up the IPDM and checked all the fuses, they were fine. Not sure so I'll leave it up to the dealer to fix. What a PITA.
